Passive Control of Steel Structures Utilizing Cylindrical Friction Dampers

In this investigation, seismic response of steel structures utilizing Cylindrical Frictional Dampers (CFD) is studied. CFD is an innovative frictional damper which comprises two principal elements, the shaft and the hollow cylinder. These two elements are assembled such that one is shrink-fitted inside the other. If the damper’s axial force overcomes the static friction load, the shaft inside the cylinder will move and results in considerable mechanical energy absorption. To assess the efficacy of CFD, various steel frames are constructed and analyzed using OpenSees software. Nonlinear time history analyses and Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) are applied to the frames and clear distinction has been drawn between the frames comprising CFD and the counterparts without CFD to emphasize the effectiveness of CFD in altering seismic responses. The results show that CFD extremely improves the seismic response of the structure

دلایل قانع کننده بسیاری برای برپائی و ماندگاری سیستم موجود است که دراینجا ده مورد آن ذکر و بحث میشود:
۱- این سیستم به حفظ و ارتقاء صلح کمک میکند
۲- مناقشات و اختلافات به طریقه ای سودمند مشکل گشائی میشوند
۳- رعایت قوانین، زندگی را برای همه آسانتر می سازد
۴- تجارت آزادتر، هزینه های زندگی را کم میکند
۵- حق انتخاب کالاها بیشتر شده و کیفیتها بالاتر می رود
۶- تجارت، درآمدها را افزایش می دهد
۷- تجارت، رشد اقتصادی را افزایش می دهد
۸- قوانین و ضوابط پایه ای، زندگی را آسانتر می کنند
۹- دولت ها در برابر اعمال نفوذهای شخصی و گروهی محافظت می شوند
۱۰- این سیستم دولتهای شایسته و خوب را ارج می دهد و تشویق میکند
۱- این سیستم به حفظ صلح جهانی کمک می کند
شاید این ادعایی بزرگ بنظر رسد و نمی توان فقط بر آن تکیه کرد، اما این سیستم به برقراری صلح جهانی یاری میرساند و اگر دلیل آنرا بدانیم تصویر واضحتری از کاری که
سیستمWTO واقعا انجام می دهد خواهیم داشت .
صلح تقریبا نتیجه دو اصل اساسی تجارت است :
– جریان یافتن تجارت به صورت روان
– فراهم آوردن بستری عادلانه و سازنده برای حل و فصل اختلاف تجاری کشورها
تاریخ پر از جنگهایی است که براثر مناقشات تجاری ایجاد شده اند یکی از مشخصترین مثالها، جنگ دهه ۱۹۳۰است که کشورها به منظور حمایت از تولیدکنندگان داخلی، از واردات خارجی جلوگیری کردند وتلاقی سیاستهای گوناگونی که کشورهای مختلف در این مورد اتخاذ می کردند رکود اقتصادی اوایل دهۀ ۱۹۳۰ را وخیم تر کرد و سرانجام منجر به آغاز جنگ جهانی دوم شد.

In man’s imagination, of all the paths leading to peace pleasure-seeking is one and of all the causes of pleasure beauty has always been the most royal. In this article, Without overestimating the value of the natural beauties and overlooking that of the artistic works as Plato had done, the authors can say the natural beauty is the answer to the natural need of man, and if this natural need is going to be satisfied through touring in the nature, we can enjoy a much better and more favorable satisfaction of our need for beauty in nature as well as keeping ourselves from falling prey to the pitfalls caused by the blurriness and shadowiness of our perception of the concept of beauty. To put it in a nutshell, touring in the nature is among the effective factors helping to clarify and illuminate the man's mental concept of beauty, which in itself can open a more reliable horizon toward developing a sustainable geotourism based on natural aesthetics.
