Specifying Some Physical and Rheological characterizations of Wood-Plastic Composite

Wood-plastic composite (WPC) is a green composite that in the past ten years has become a commercial product. Specifying the material characterizations can help to select proper variables of material and process. For this purpose two types of rheological experiments were performed on some WPCs by using a rotational plate rheometer: i) strain sweep and ii) frequency sweep. The variables were wood content, melt flow index of polymer (MFI), melt temperature, frequency and strain percentage. The results specify the effect of each parameter on the rheological variables of storage and loss moduli and also compelex viscosity. Moreover, some differential scanning calorimetery (DSC) tests were performed in order to characterize some physical properties of this composite.
